The luxury motorcycles
Did you know that you can fill your garage with at least 5 or 6 cars for the price of the most expensive motorcycle in the world? Some of the most prestigious manufacturers in the world have in fact developed some futuristic-looking motorcycles, with amazing performance and exorbitant prices. Here is the ranking of the 15 most elite motorcycle models.
In fifteenth place of the most expensive motorcycles in the world we find the Suzuki AEM Carbon Fiber Hayabusa. This is the second motorcycle in the world to benefit from carbon fiber, which improves its performance while also making it the fastest motorcycle from the Japanese automaker. The bike reaches speeds of 300 KM / H making it the fastest production bike in the world. First introduced in 1999, it was then modernized in 2008.
Ninth place for the Testa Stretta NCR Macchia Nera, designed by Aldo Drudi in a limited edition. Made with a carbon fiber and titanium coating, it is equipped with wheels with “MotoGP Brembo” braking system that allow you to easily control this bike that can reach a power of 185 horsepower.
Thirteenth place for the Ducati Desmosedici D16RR NCR, which consists of a reworking of the Desmosedici D16RR NCR with a 989cc engine capable of reaching speeds of more than 300 km / h. Despite its size and power, it is perfectly legal to drive this Ducati model on the road.
The Ecosse Founder Edition Ti XX occupies the twelfth place in the ranking of the 15 most expensive motorcycles in the world. Limited edition of only 13 pieces, it boasts a titanium and carbon fiber frame and hand-stitched leather seats. The 2400cc engine can reach a speed of 315 km / h.
Eleventh place in the ranking for the "British Vintage Black", one of the most beautiful vintage motorcycles in the world. Made in the UK, it was released in 1948 as a limited edition (only 33 pieces) and its 250cc engine was considered one of the most powerful of the period. Today it is considered one of the most coveted motorcycle models in the world.
Tenth place in the top 10 for the Dodge Tomahawk, a 500 horsepower motorcycle capable of reaching speeds of almost 96 km / h in about 2.5 seconds for a theoretical maximum speed of 644 km / h. This model is actually not road legal, but it represents a concept created by Dodge to demonstrate its technical and development capabilities.
Ninth place for the Harley-Davidson Strap Tank. Designed at the beginning of the last century, precisely in 1907, it was one of the first 100 Harleys to leave the factory. What makes the model unique is the fact that it has never been modified or restored since its creation, the only visible changes are given by the passage of time. Collectors are competing to get hold of this emblematic model and one of them has set its new value, almost 700,000 euros when he bought it at an auction for 649,000 euros.
The Cyclone Board Track Racer occupies the eighth place in the ranking. The motorcycle, created in 1915, stands out for its banana yellow color and at the moment only 12 models are still in circulation. One of the reasons that brought this motorcycle to fame is that, in the middle of the last second, it was able to reach the speed of 179 km / h, exceeding the then limit of 150 km / h. Steve McQueen was one of its most famous owners, which helped to increase its reputation.
Seventh place for the Black Lightning, which became one of the most expensive bikes ever sold at auction after being purchased in 2018 for € 843,000. In the mid-1950s it was considered one of the most powerful and fastest motorcycles of the century, with a top speed reached of 227 km / h. Very few models of the 30 produced have survived the last century, and this makes it not only one of the most expensive motorcycles, but also one of the rarest.
The Harley-Davidson Cosmic Starship ranks sixth in the ranking of the most expensive motorcycles in the world. The bike is actually quite ordinary in terms of technical characteristics: it is in fact a simple Harley-Davidson V-Rod with a 120cc engine. What makes it unique is the fact that it was hand decorated by the painter Jack Armstrong, in his style of cosmic existentialism.
Fifth place for the BMS Nehmesis, which for materials and style is considered a real work of art rather than a motorcycle. The model was handcrafted by Sam Nehme, who runs a motorcycle restoration workshop, the BMS Choppers. The model has a suspension system that can raise the motorcycle to 25 cm from the ground or lower it directly to the ground, without the need for a parking stand. The bike combines futuristic, gothic and traditional design and is entirely plated in 24 carat gold, which brings its value to almost 3 million euros.
Wooden medal for the first production motorcycle ever created, released on the market in 1894, considered a true engineering marvel. The bike was already powerful enough for the time and managed to reach a speed of 45 km / h, a very high limit for those times. The model is rare to find, which explains the estimated value of more than 3 million euros.
Third place for the Ecosse Spirit, inspired by Formula 1 cars. This elegant and powerful bike, entirely in titanium, has a smooth and aerodynamic frame that allows it to reach breathtaking speeds. To be able to drive it, all owners must take a two-week course to learn how to tame it, given the 200 cc and the top speed of almost 400 km / h. The bike was produced in a limited edition, with only 10 models available.
Silver medal for the most expensive motorcycles goes to the AJS Porcupine, renowned both in terms of performance and design. There are only 4 models in the world, which makes it a real collector's model. The only original currently known, kept for more than 20 years at the Coventry National Motorcycle Museum, is currently on sale for around 6.4 million euros, making it the second most expensive motorcycle in the world.
Top of the ranking of the most expensive motorcycle in the world for the Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter, born from the American luxury clothing and fashion brand Neiman Marcus. The Swiss watch style design combined with a frame made from a single piece of metal have made the bike a real 90's piece for fans of the sector. Currently only 45 copies of this model are available on the market which, despite its prohibitive price and futuristic appearance, is completely legal to drive on the road. The bike is capable of reaching 305 km / h with an air-cooled 45-degree 120ci V-twin engine complemented by titanium, aluminum and carbon fiber reinforcements.
